It’s hard to tell, I don’t work at a bowling alley and you can ask them what they do to clean bowling shoes but from bowling for a long time, I have seen them spray some kind of disinfectant inside the bowling shoes and they may clean in the inside and outside of the shoe. One of the best things that you can do is wear clean socks while you bowl just to be on the safe side. Sometimes the bowling alley can provide the socks for you but it’s best to bring your own. Please keep in mind that other people have used those bowling shoes that you are wearing and maybe the bowling alley may not have cleaned the shoe like it’s should be but you bring your own socks to wear and look and smell the shoes and get a new pair if needed.
If you wear socks with the bowling shoes the bowling alley gives you, you should be just fine to wear them. This is what most people do and they are just fine.
